A proudly Aboriginal owned boutique film and video media production house creating music videos, television commercials, award-winning narrative and documentary short films, and corporate video. Whether creative or corporate – Telling captivating stories is our passion and the backbone of all we do. Blacklock Media pride ourselves on working in a culturally responsive and sensitive way which enables us to tell diverse, inclusive, stories across cultures. Our goal is to actively open doors for fellow First Nations storytellers in the film industry whether through hiring, casting, or content.

Blacklock Media was founded by Ngarabal and Biripi cinematographer Brendan Blacklock in 2012. Brendan began his career as a camera assistant on Australian film, TV and documentary productions including Felony, Redfern Now, Cleverman and Servant or Slave. When he isn’t helming the production of Blacklock Media film and video projects, he works as a Cinematographer on major productions such as Filthy Rich and Homeless, Backtrack Boys, Spread the Word, Take Blaktion campaign as well as various other music videos, documentaries, and short films.

Our team are all inter-disciplinarians within the film and television industry with over 50 years combined experience. We have worked on everything from major motion picture feature films in the US, to filming Indigenous community documentary projects in the most remote regions of Australia. The unique lens and specialisations of our team across screenwriting, directing, cinematography, audio, editing, and colour grading allows us to have a close-knit unit which is highly skilled, efficient, versatile, collaborative, and deeply invested in the success of every project from development to delivery.
