Blacklock Media is an Aboriginal-owned film and video production company working across Australia. The company produces documentary, narrative, commercial and branded content for organisations, artists and cultural projects.
Blacklock Media combines strong visual storytelling with a production approach grounded in cultural knowledge and professional practice. Our work is informed by Aboriginal cultural knowledge and an understanding of community, story and Country. Blacklock Media was founded by Ngarabal and Biripi cinematographer Brendan Blacklock in 2012. Brendan began his career as a camera assistant on Australian film, television and documentary productions including Felony, Redfern Now, Cleverman and Servant or Slave.
Alongside leading Blacklock Media’s productions, Brendan works as a cinematographer on major projects including Filthy Rich and Homeless, Backtrack Boys, Spread the Word and the Take Blaktion campaign, along with numerous documentaries, music videos and short films.
The Blacklock Media team brings together experienced professionals across writing, directing, cinematography, sound, editing and colour grading, with more than 50 years of combined industry experience. Together the team delivers productions from development through to post-production, combining strong creative direction with high production standards.
Clients say…
“Brendan and the dynamic team at Blacklock Media were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Despite the very ambitious time frames, challenging filming locations and some “novice actors”, Brendan confidently guided the production of a high quality corporate promotional video. I would highly recommend Blacklock Media for your corporate video needs.”
